
Warren was driving his motorcycle west on East High Street Road when a motorist turned left in front of him at Broadripple Road at 4:10 p.m. He died instantly at the scene. He was born Sept. 14, 1940, and married Carol M. Snyder (Class of 1959) on June 15, 1959. They were high school sweethearts and featured in a full page picture on page 74 of the 1958 Tattler. Warren was a Navy veteran and the general supervisor at Louisville Cement. He was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church and the Evening Exchange Club. he was past president of the Logansport Jaycees, the Cass County Mental Health Assoc. and Junior Achievement.
A Logansport man died Monday
afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car on High Street
Road east of the city. Warren W. Shively, 40, Rt. 4, Box
219C, was killed at 4:10 p.m. when the motorcycle he was riding
collided with an auto driven by Carolyn S. Moon, 31, Peru.
Moon was not injured in the crash. Police
said Moon was traveling east on High Street Road, attempting to
turn left onto Broadripple Road. She apparently was
watching a truck which was corning up behind her and started to
make the turn, colliding with the westbound motorcycle.
Cass Coroner Max Metzger said Shively
died instantly of a compound skull fracture.
Cass Officer Wayne Erwin investigated
at the scene, assisted by Officer Jill Phillips and Sheriff Gene
Powlen.
Shively was the sixth person killed
in traffic accidents this month in CassCounty. The Cass
traffic death toll for the year stands at 14.
Warren William Shively was born
Sept. 14, 1940, in Logansport to Paul William and Margaret Powell
Shively. He was married on June 15, 1959, to Carol M. Snyder,
who survives.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he was the

was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and the
Evening Exchange Club; and past president of the Logansport Jaycees,
the Cass County Mental Health Association and Junior Achievement.
Also surviving are three sons, Darr
W., Warren S., and Michael A., and one daughter, Annette M., all
at home; his parents, of 709 E. Melbourne; two brothers, Patrick,
907-20th St.; and John D., Rt. 5; one sister, Diana Young, Orlando,
Fla.; and his grandmother, Gladis Davidson, 701 E. Melbourne.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum
Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Ruhl officiating. Burial
will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday.
