Courtney B. Justice
December 28, 1941 - December 9, 2013

     Courtney B. Justice, age 71, Cass County, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013, in his residence.

     Born December 28, 1941, in Logansport, he was the son of John and Martha Been Justice.  His parents survive, residing in Cass County.

     He was married December 31, 1996, to Diana Stewart, who survives.

     Courtney was an attorney with Justice Law Offices of Logansport and Delphi.

     He was [the Senior Class Vice-President] and 1959 graduate of Logansport High School, 1963 graduate of Wabash College, and earned a JD degree in 1966 from George Washington University Law School.  Courtney then did graduate work at the University of London.

     He returned to the United States where he worked for a United States senator in Washington, D.C., and for the newly-formed Environmental Protection Agency before returning to Cass County where he farmed before opening his law offices in 1975 (Delphi) and 1979 (Logansport).  Mr. Justice continued to raise black Angus cattle with his father.

     From 1976 to 1980 he was appointed Judge of what later became the Carroll Superior Court.

     Courtney was a member of the Burrows Presbyterian Church.

     Surviving, in addition to his parents and his wife, are daughters, Susannah Hall-Justice (Bryan Coulter), West Lafayette, Emily Jo Justice, Cass County; granddaughter, Ella Justice-Coulter; nieces, Kirsten Justice (Jennifer Dixon), Raleigh, NC, Rebecca Replogle (John), West Lafayette, nephew, Owen Justice (Catherine), Minneapolis, and sister-in-law, Pam Tate, Chicago, as well as several cousins.

     His brother, David Justice, preceded him in death.

     The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Kroeger Funeral Home.  The Rev. Douglas Mankell will officiate.

     A memorial visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Kroeger Funeral Home.

     Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery by Keeps Creek, Cass County.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  (12-9-13)
