Max
Gordon Baker, 83, of2104 E. Jefferson St., Warsaw, Indiana, died
at 12:16 p.m. April 2, 2003, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Winchester.
On Aug. 18, 1949, in Winchester, he married Mary Lou Hyre,
who survives.
Living in Warsaw since 1962, he
retired as production manager at Da-Lite Screen Co. in 1990,
and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European
theater. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Warsaw, and was past commander of American Legion Post 49, and
a member of 40&8 Post 49. He was a former Boy Scoutmaster
and a former Warsaw Little League coach.
Also surviving are five sons: Thomas
Michael Baker, Burket; Larry W. Baker, Warsaw; Gary E. and John
Paul Baker, both of North Webster; and James Albert Baker, Round
Lake, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Monsignor James
Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw,
with a military graveside service by members of Warsaw American
Legion Post 49, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday
at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with a rosary service
at 4:30 p.m.
