John P. "Jack" Burns

John
P. "Jack" Burns, 83, died at 8:03 a.m. Dec. 3, 2004,
at Grace Village, Winona Lake, Indiana, where he resided.
He was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Fort
Wayne, to Michael and Helen Dodane Burns. On Jan. 31, 1942,
in Fort Wayne, he married Katherine M. Burrell.
A resident of Warsaw for the past
36 years, he worked in sales and was self-employed. He
was a member of Sacred Hearth Catholic Church, American Legion,
and Rozella Ford Golf Course. He was a U.S. Navy veteran
from 1942 to 1945.
Survivors include seven children:
John P. (and wife Diana) Burns Jr., Fort Wayne; Michael T. (and
wife Cynthia) Burns, Siesta Key, Fla.; Timothy J. (and wife Carol)
Burns, Stephen J. Burns, Mrs. Dick (Annette M.) Byers, all of
Indianapolis; Thomas E. (and wife Jody) Burns, Warsaw; and Jeanine
A. Michael, Kalamazoo, Mich.; two brothers: Paul E. "Mike"
Burns, Fort Wayne, and Robert Burns, Muskogee, Okla.; two sisters:
Mary Ellen Mauer, Coral Gables, Fla., and Joan Veitch, Woodbury
Minn.; 16 grandchildren: Christopher Jillian Matt, Andrea, Sara,
Patrick, Laura, Suzanne, Dan and Megan Burns; Jennifer Hair;
Andrew and Maureen Byers; Claire and Ally Michael; and Kate Nowak;
and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Burial will be
in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside services
by Warsaw American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Calling is one hour prior to the
service at the church Monday.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel,
Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
