Eileen
Conlan, 100, 1100 College Ave., Winona Lake, Indiana, died at
8:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004.
She was born March 11, 1903. On
Dec. 16, 1922, she married Capt. Robert Joseph Conlan, IFS, who
died in 1954.
Surviving are three sons, Desmond
"Joe" Winona Lake, Robert E., Bayside, N.Y., and Brian
G., Sunland, Calif.; and one granddaughter. She was preceded
in death by a daughter, three sisters, and two brothers.
Services were held Thursday, Feb. 19, in Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Warsaw, with Monsignor James Wolf officiating. Burial
was in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Eileen Conlan died
on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2004, in Winona Lake, Indiana,
at the age of 100. She was born on March 11, 1903 in Dublin,
Ireland, to the family of a builder, Michael Lindsay, and his
wife Emily (Burke). She came to the United States in 1926 with
her husband Robert J. Conlan and were married on December 2,
1922, in Ireland. Her husband died in 1962. Eileen had a sister
Valentine, who was born and also died on Valentine's Day.
Eileen worked for Bankers Trust
and lived in Bayside, N.Y. after retiring. She moved to Warsaw
and lived at the Retired Tigers Apartments. Her first year in
Warsaw she won the pie baking contest at the county fair. A heart
attack in 2000 initiated a move in with her son Desmond and his
wife Waverly in Winona Lake where she remained until her death.
She was a member of Sacred Heart
Church even after being homebound with illness. She loved to
talk politics and international happenings. Eileen enjoyed when
visitors came to see her in her later years and always wanted
to hear about the children in their families. Her family considered
her to be a very positive influence in their lives.
Eileen and Robert J. had four children,
Robert E. Conlan, Bayside, New York; Desmond "Joe"
(Waverly), Winona Lake, Indiana; and Brian G. Sunland, California.
She was predeceased by a four year old daughter Mari in 1926
and her husband.
A Mass was held at Sacred Heart
Church with Monsignor James Wolf officiating. Burial was in Oakwood
Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
