Thomas L. O'Connell

Thomas
L. O'Connell, 76, of 1003 S. Union St,, Warsaw, Indiana, died
at 5 a.m. April 1, 1999, in Prairie View Health Care Center,
Warsaw.
He was born July 12, 1922, in Peru,
to Thomas L. Sr. and Caroline Fasnacht O'Connell. In 1943,
he married Lila C. Mull. On Oct. 18, 1980, in Warsaw, he married
Genevieve Bigler, who preceded him in death.
He was former owner of O'Connell's
Poolside Motel, Warsaw; worked at Korth Furniture; and retired
from Warsaw Plating Works. He was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Warsaw; Peru American Legion; and Elks Clubs
in Peru and Warsaw. He was past commander of Warsaw American
Legion Post 49.
Survivors include five daughters:
Carolyn J. Bumbaugh, Philadelphia, Pa.; M. Kathleen Slattery,
Denver, Colo.; Laura L. Patrick, Warsaw; ,and Tammy L. Lukens
and Teresa L. Williams, both of Pierceton; three sons, Thomas
L. O'Connell, Chicago, Ill., and Patrick S. and James K. O'Connell,
both of Warsaw; four sisters: Helen Becker, Palatine, Ill.; Rose
Ann Long, Peru; Mary Alice Dolan, Louisville, Ky.; and Maureen
Sweet, Oakton, Va.; and a brother, Daniel O'Connell, Avon Lake,
Ohio. He was preceded in death by two sisters, a son, and
a daughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Patrick
Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery,
Warsaw, with military graveside services by members of Warsaw
American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to
8 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
