Louis Wright Sweeney      June 5, 2011

     Louis Wright Sweeney passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 in Warsaw Meadows Health Care, Warsaw. Indiana.  He was born in Mount Bethel, PA to Harry and Helen (Kelley) Sweeney.  In 1953 he married Mary Morris who preceded him in 1975.  On April 25, 1987, he married Dorothy Hogan, who survives.
    He graduated from Clarkson University in Mechanical Engineering.  Lou was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Warsaw, IN.  Also, he was 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the American Legion Post #49, and the Brotherhood of Elks 802.
    Lou faithfully served his country from 1944 to 1946 in World War II in the 87th Infantry Division of the United States Army in the European Theater of Operations.
    He is survived by one brother James Vincent (and spouse Mary) Sweeney; four daughters including Joann (and spouse Larry) Zeisner of Chester, CT; Lois Sweeney of Wallingford, CT; Judith (and spouse Mike) Sokoloff of Cheshire, CT and Kathleen (and spouse Arthur) Kramer of Southington, CT and one son Mark (and spouse Kathleen) Sweeney. In addition, he is survived by a stepdaughter Sheila (and Spouse James) Scovic; a stepson Jerry (and spouse Sally) Hogan, Warsaw, IN, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Lou was preceded by 2 brothers Robert and Joseph, one sister Catherine, a stepdaughter Marjorie Hogan Davis, a stepson Chuck Hogan and his wife JoEllen, 1 granddaughter and 1 great-granddaughter.
    Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN.  A Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Phil DeVolder officiating.  Burial will be in St. Bridget's Catholic Church Cemetery of Cheshire, CT.
