Shirley Ann Kolesiak      March 1, 2013

     Shirley Ann Kolesiak of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 10:01 p.m. at her residence at the age of 71 surrounded by her family.

     She was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 39 years where she was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Warsaw.  She had a deep faith in God and the Catholic Church, and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society.  Shirley was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed lunches with her tennis friends.  She was also involved in the Welcome Wagon, and a member of the Gourmet Club.  She loved to follow the Notre Dame Women’s Basketball team, as well as Notre Dame Football.  She loved gardening, and had an unforgettable laugh, but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren.

     She was born on February 20, 1942, in South Bend, Indiana, to Sylvester Leda and Sophie (Romanowski) Leda.  On February 23, 1963, she was married to Ernest Theodore Kolesiak, who survives in Warsaw, Indiana.

     Also surviving are her two daughters: Cynthia Romine (Warsaw, Indiana); Karen (husband Kurt) Kratzsch (Warsaw, Indiana); and her son: Michael (wife Shannon) Kolesiak (Akron, Indiana).  She will be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

     Her visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m.

     Her Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana, celebrated by Father Phil DeVolder.  A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

     Memorial donations in Shirley’s name may be directed to The ALS Association, Indiana Chapter, 6525 E. 82nd Street, Suite 115, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250; or to Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1196 and would be appreciated by her family    (3-2-2013)
