Colonel Walter Panchison      November 26, 2005

     Colonel Walter Panchison, 84, of 7743 W. Hoffman Lake Road, Warsaw, Indiana, died at 3:35 p.m. Nov. 26, 2005, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
     He was born Dec. 4, 1920, in St. Clair, Pa. to Michael and Ella Stech Panchison.  On Nov. 27, 1962, in Miami, Fla., he married Portia Charlene Hadesty, who survives.
     A resident of Kosciusko County since 2000, he was a graduate of the University of Maryland and numerous military schools.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, and was involved at the senior citizens club.  After 30 years of service, he retired from in the United States Marine Corps in 1969.  He received the Naval Aviation Pilot Wings in 1943 and served in the South Pacific in Japan as a Master Sergeant.  He was an exchange pilot with the Royal Air Force, United Kingdom.
     Also surviving are a son, Clarence Panchison, Warsaw; a daughter, Mrs. Ned C. (Pat) Frost, Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Joseph Panchison, Port Hollywood, Va.; and a sister, Mildred Poliszuk, Baltimore. Md.  He was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, and two brothers.
     Services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Monsignor James Wolf officiating.  Burial will be at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia.
     No calling is planned.
     Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
