M. Salome Peters

Coldwater native Mary Salome Peters,
80, 129 W. Summit St., Delphi, Ind., died at 9:43 a.m. Aug. 11,
2003, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 22, 1922, in
Coldwater, to Edward and Olive Miehls Giere. On Jan. 23,
1954, she married Carl J. Peters who died June 21, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Dave A. of
Mishawaka, Ind.; two daughters, Therese (Michael) Johnson, St.
Petersburg, Fla., and Carla M. Bradshaw, Delphi; two brothers,
Earl (Gay) Giere and Oliver (Sarah) Giere, all of Coldwater;
a sister, Rita McDivitt, also of Coldwater; and six grandchildren.
Six brothers and a sister are deceased.
She was secretary at Sacred Heart
Parish in Warsaw, Ind., for 30 years. A 1940 graduate of
Coldwater High School, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Warsaw, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi, the Altar-Rosary
Societies of both churches and the Kosciusko Community Hospital
Auxiliary. She served on the Oakwood Cemetery board of
directors for 13 years.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday
at the Warsaw church, Msgr. James Wolf officiating. Burial
will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Abbott
Funeral Home, Delphi, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
A Scripture service is set for 5:30 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home with the Rev. Peter Vanderkolk officiating.
