Harold "Clarke Rutledge    April 24, 2014

Rutledge-Clarke.jpg     Harold “Clarke” Rutledge of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 3:48 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw at the age of 74.

     He served in the Canadian Air Force from January 21, 1957, until his honorable discharge on August 4, 1972.  He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 34 years where he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Warsaw and the Knights of Columbus.  Clarke moved to Warsaw in 1980 when he started working for Zimmer Inc.  He worked there for a number of years, then later worked at DePuy, Biomet, Applied Thermal Technology, and then with B&M Instruments until his passing.

     He was born on August 4, 1939, in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada to Olive Maude (MacDonald) Rutledge and Fredrick Archibald Rutledge.  On July 19, 1997, he was married to Carole Ann (Crosby) Rutledge, who survives in Warsaw, Indiana.

     He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons:  Dale Rutledge (Ontario); Timothy (wife Vicki) Rutledge (Warsaw, Indiana); Todd Rutledge (Ontario); three step-sons:  Ralph (wife Christine) Marcuccilli (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Bob (wife Shari) Marcuccilli (Warsaw, Indiana); Michael (wife Jena) Marcuccilli (Warsaw, Indiana); three daughters:  Tracey (husband Steve) Kamp (Akron, Indiana); Toni McLeod (Ontario); Amber (husband Scott) Warren (Warsaw, Indiana); two step-daughters:  Melanie (husband Jeff) Cameron (Warsaw, Indiana); Angela (husband Randy) Burnett (Warsaw, Indiana); and 33 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also leaves behind six brothers:  Terrance (wife Betty) Rutledge (Nova Scotia); Dale (wife Jean) Rutledge (Ontario); Fredrick Rutledge (Nova Scotia); Sandy (wife Gail) Rutledge (Nova Scotia); Wade (wife Vicky) Rutledge (Nova Scotia); Craig (wife Melanie) Rutledge (Nova Scotia); eight sisters:  Carolyn (husband Robert) Hickey (Nova Scotia); Eunice (husband Ronald) Beck (Quebec); Agnes (husband Brian) Moser (Nova Scotia); Barbara (husband Barry) Verge (Nova Scotia); Bonnie (husband James) Lowe (Nova Scotia); Joy (husband Joseph) Casey (Nova Scotia); Kellie (husband Gordon) Fiander (Nova Scotia); and Judy (husband Walter) Johnson (Nova Scotia).  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter.

     Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana, with a Rosary Service following at 7:00 p.m.

     His Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana, celebrated by Father Phil DeVolder.  Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.

     Memorial donations in Clarke’s name may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 135 N. Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana  46580 and would be appreciated by his family.  (4-24-2014)
