Gerald Francis Schildroth, Sr.

Francis Schildroth Sr., of Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana,
and formerly of Chapman House, died at 10:55 a.m. Nov. 10, 2005,
at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Grand
Rapids, Mich. to Samuel and Leone Wilkinson Schildroth. On
June 11, 1938, he married Jane Irene Humphrey, who died June
11, 1970. On Sept. 25, 1971, he married Elizabeth Pheils, who
died Nov. 20, 1996.
A resident of Kosciusko County
since 1971, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Warsaw, and volunteered for many church functions. He was
a star athlete at Creston High School, Grand Rapids, in the 1930s.
He was an honorary life member
of Knights of Columbus and a member of the United Transportation
Union, Warsaw Lodge 802. He worked for C&O Railroad
before retiring in 1971 after 32/years. He was a volunteer
for many years at the Bowen Center, Warsaw.
Surviving are three sons: Gerald
F. Schildroth Jr., Vail, Colo.; Michael Schildroth, Charlotte,
N.C.; and Kevin Schildroth, Warsaw; three daughters: Mrs. Walter
(Linda) Glass, Grand Rapids; Mrs. Steve (Kathleen) Rusiewicz,
Titusville, Pa.; and Mrs. Christopher (Maureen) Pheils, Melbourne,
Fla.; a stepdaughter, Martha Pheils, Denver, Colo.; 16 grandchildren;
11 great-grandchildren; a cousin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw: Burial will be
in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and
6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Titus Funeral Home. (11-3-2010)
