Richard Edwin “Cappy” Sullivan   Sept. 10, 2018

     Richard Edwin “Cappy” Sullivan, 87, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Monday September 10, 2018, at 9:45 p.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.  He was born on March 30, 1931, to Charles and Corrine (Headstrom) Sullivan in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
     He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Navy Seabee and was stationed at the Naval Base in Subic Bay in the Philippines.  He was honorably discharged.
     He married Lois A. Phillips in November of 1962 in Chicago.
     He was a retired fulltime Chicago Firefighter serving his community there for 35 years., Then Cappy and Lois moved to Warsaw in 1991 where he became a Winona Lake Volunteer Firefighter serving this community for 20 years.
     He enjoyed collecting Firefighter memorabilia, such as books, antique fire engines, firehouses and many more memorabilia items.
     Cappy is survived by his wife Lois A. Sullivan of Warsaw; a daughter Martha Ann Sullivan, Warsaw and a son, Brian Charles Sullivan and (Darrell Kozlowski) of Palos Heights, Illinois; sister in laws, Rita Sullivan of Florida and Judy Sullivan of South Holland, Illinois.
     He is preceded by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
     Visitation will be held on Thursday September 13, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
     A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday September 14, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw with Father Jonathan Norton officiating the Mass.
     Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
