Richard R Van Zile     Richard R. Van Zile, age 68, of Bryan, passed away late Thursday evening, March 26, 2009 at the Community Health Partners Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance.  Richard had worked at the Bryan Wal*Mart store for 6 years in the Sporting Goods Department.  Prior to that he had worked as a bio-mechanical engineer at Nemco Medical in Hicksville, Ohio, Zimmer-DePuy in Warsaw, Indiana and Wright Medical Technologies in Arlington, Tennessee.  Mr. Van Zile was a US Army veteran serving from 1959-1963 as a Medical Specialist and was a graduate of Elkhart High School in Elkhart, Indiana.
     Born August 3, 1940 in Elkhart, Indiana, he was the son of William E. & Evelyn (Beacham) Van Zile.  He married Pamela Davis on May 23, 1996 in Arlington, Tennessee and she survives in Bryan.  Richard's children, Michele Myers of Warsaw, Indiana, Brandi Hughes of Bryan, Stephanie Kaye and husband Douglas Double of Bryan and Hunter and wife Josie Davis of Montpelier; grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor and Alexis of Warsaw, Indiana, Kyle, Presley, Joseph, Alexis. Kaylee, Weston, Dava, and Devyn all of Bryan and Kayla and Sara of Montpelier; sisters, Wanetta Hastings of North Port, Florida and Elkhart, Indiana and Betty Ann and husband Ronald Gilbert of Warsaw, Indiana; several nieces and nephews survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Van Zile.
     Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory in Bryan. Visitation will also be held at the Wally-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart, Indiana from 12:00-2:00pm on Monday, March 30, 2009.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Richard R. Van Zile are requested to the Community Health Partners Inpatient Hospice Center.  (10-18-2010)
