Donald M. Waggoner..................................December 20, 2016

 

Waggoner-Donald-M.jpg     Donald M. Waggoner, 82, Etna Green, died at 7:28 a.m. Dec. 20, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

     He was born March 12, 1934, in Kosciusko County, to Paul and Eva Miller Waggoner.  On Oct. 5, 1963, in Warsaw, he married Alice E. Feldman, who passed on March 17, 2005.

     From 1960 to 1996 he owned and operated Don’s Flower Shoppe in Etna Green, where he was very detailed.  He was known for his quality work throughout the area.

     He was a graduate of Etna Green High School in 1952.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.  He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1958.

     In years past he served on the Etna Township Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed going out to eat, gardening and entertaining friends for coffee and happy hour.  He enjoyed watching birds at his feeders and his dogs.

     He loved his grandchildren and socializing with people.

     Survivors include a son, Eric (wife Kim) Waggoner, Etna Green; five grandchildren, Kristyn, Ben, Emily, Mikayla and Nick, and a special adopted granddaughter, Nobuko; and a brother, Larry (wife Pearl) Waggoner, Maryland.

     He was preceded by his parents; wife, Alice E. Waggoner; sisters, Judy Waggoner and Dorla Miller; a brother, Ronald Waggoner; and a grandson, Alexander.

     The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Jordan Ickes officiating.  Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.

     Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
