Charles Joseph Whicker      January 23, 2012

     Charles Joseph Whicker, 74, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, at 11:54 a.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Joe was born September 17, 1937, in Hartford City, Indiana, to Charles Virgil and Virginia Lee (Hollenbeck) Whicker.
     He and Sharon E. Pippenger were married October 9, 1960, in Warsaw, Indiana. A Warsaw resident since 1966, Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Joe was a tool and die maker for Fisher Body (Marion, Indiana) for 33 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of Local 977 Union UAW.
     Joe loved fishing and enjoyed reading, woodworking and watching old westerns.
     Left with memories to treasure are his wife, Sharon Whicker, Warsaw; son and daughter-in-law: Joe and Charlotte Whicker of Elkhart, Indiana; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Linda (and fiancé, Aaron Bice) Boeshart, Huntington Beach, California; and Amy and Greg Barry of Warsaw; 3 granddaughters: Elly (and husband, Tyler) Gorski of Huntington Beach; Miranda Whicker of Elkhart, Indiana; and Erin Boeshart of Huntington Beach.
     Friends and family will gather at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Thursday, January 26th from 5-8 p.m. to share memories and support the family. A service celebrating Joe's life will be held Friday, January 27th at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
     The family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to The American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 900, Chicago, Illinois 60604.
     The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it an honor to care for the family of Joe Whicker.
